ThePirateBay.org

Well today marks another victory for the RIAA/MPAA, and another HUGE blow to the file sharing community.

This is now what is on ThePirateBay.org.

In the morning of 2006-05-31 the Swedish National Criminal Police showed a search warrant to Rix|Port80 personnell. The warrant was valid for all datacentres of Rix|Port80 and was directed at The Pirate Bay. The allegation was breach of copy-right law, alternatively assisting breach of copy-right law.

The police officers were allowed access to the racks where the TPB servers and other servers are hosted. All servers in the racks were clearly marked as to which sites run on each. The police took down all servers in the racks, including the non-commercial site Piratbyrån, the mission of which is to defend the rights of TPB via public debate.

According to police officers simultaneously questioning the president of Rix|Port80, the purpose of the search warrant is to take down TPB in order to secure evidence of the allegations mentioned above.

The necessity for securing technical evidence for the existance of a web-service which is fully official, the legality of which has been under public debate for years and whose principals are public persons giving regular press interviews, could not be explained. Asked for other reasoning behind the choice to take down a site, without knowing wether it is illegal or not, the officers explained that this is normal.

The TPB can receive compensation from the Swedish state in case that the upcoming legal processes show that TPB is indeed legal.

Firefox 2 Alpha 3 Review

Read it here, I personally can’t wait. It looks like it is going to totally kick @$$!

Aliens

Well the last week has been a killer. It is approaching the end of the quarter at school, and work has been keeping me busy. Friday night I had to go pick my father up at the airport and got home at 2am Saturday morning, therefore I slept the rest of the day. Sunday I spent cleaning and listing extra junk I had laying around on eBay. Sunday I worked on the Silvia…will be posting pictures here in a little bit. There is the story of my life, trying to stay alive and its working, for now.

Wheels for the Silvia

Well the guys down at Enjuku Racing hooked me up once again. I ordered some new wheels from Greddy for the s14 Silvia. Check out the picture below for what they look like.

Vi Survival Guide

I hate Vi. I have never been able to understand it. If you aren’t a geek you are probably wondering right now what Vi is. Vi is a console text editor for Unix. When I first got my web server about four years ago I tried Vi and never understood it, many friends tried to teach me with no luck. I instead used Pico, and then graduated to Nano. Well after spending countless times Googling trying to find a decent guide for Vi I found one. This thing is awesome; it tells you everything you could ever need to know about it. Check it out!

Google House

How I would have Google.

Sandstorm

I got this from a good friend of mine. This is simply amazing.

Here are some pics and footage of the shamal (sand storm) that tried to eat my helo coming back to my camp 2 days ago. I was 10 miles out flying back to the camp at the end of my mission and asked for clearance to land. Tower told me negative and to turn around because he was at 10′ visibility. I could see the storm billowing in the distance. I turned around and headed toward another camp. The sand storm was chasing me just like in the movie, “the scorpion king”. Mean while the crew chiefs in the back were capturing it all on their digital cameras. When I reached the other camp and contacted tower to ask for landing instructions, he replied, “Do you realize there is a sand storm at your 6 o’clock? I almost said, “Here’s your sign”. He cleared me to cross all active runways direct to my touchdown spot. As soon as I was wheels down the storm engulfed our helo. It was the wildest thing I have ever seen.
