Wheels

Well my wheels for the Silvia finally showed up. I got tires mounted on the fronts and got them on the car this weekend. Thanks to Ray from Enjuku Racing for hooking me up with such awesome wheels. Tires for the rear are on order and I should have them sometime this week and get them on the car next weekend. Hopefully I’ll have the car home next weekend too so I can do the finishing touches before I send it out for paint, body work, and fresh new areo kit from BN Sport USA.

Here are some pictures for you to drool at.

Wheels for the Silvia

Well the guys down at Enjuku Racing hooked me up once again. I ordered some new wheels from Greddy for the s14 Silvia. Check out the picture below for what they look like.

Silvia Updates

Well it’s been a while sense I’ve posted updates on the Silvia so here is what’s been going on. The whole car is together. I got the seats a few weeks back, and last week the Greddy E-Manage finally showed up. This week we are wiring everything, and putting the roll-cage in. I should have pictures of what it all looks like later part of this week, or early next week.

McLaren SLK and Porsche 911

Well today was a car hunting expedition with my father. He currently has a 2004 Volvo XC-90 SUV and is looking to get something else. We started off the day at the BMW dealer. What assholes. They didn’t even come outside. When they let us take the X5 on a test drive they wouldn’t let us take it on a couple roads we know to see how it compares to the Volvo. I was not impressed. Next we turned to the Mercedes dealer right next door. Talk about a class act. They impressed the hell out of me, but so did the Mercedes McLaren SLR they had in the show room, nothing like looking at about a $450,000 car. Mercedes has a brand new SUV that they are coming out with, the GL-450, that car impressed the shit out of me. It takes a lot to impress me with a car but this one sure did it. The salesman took us on some awesome roads to test drive the car. Up and down the freeway and was extremely helpful. Just go to the site to read up on it, in fact it’s so new they didn’t even have information on the car they just had one car there as a demo. I don’t even want to go into how great it was because I can’t think of a way to describe it right now. Just go read up on it and it will impress you. Another thing that impressed me at the Mercedes dealership was how friendly and helpful they were. BMW can shove it. Well once we got the stuff for my dad taken car of, we needed to go look at a Porsche 911 for me. Well not really but I have always loved Porsche’s so I had to go look at one. So we decided to test drive a soft top and then a hard top 911. Now that was fun. They got right up to 100 and back in no time. It was great fun. We found a nice “S” curve that we played in for a bet then decided we should go somewhere else before the cops show up. After driving the 911 now I really want to get my car done so I can go play. Even though the 911 has 325hp, it was damn near as fun as the Ford Mustang Cobra I rode in Friday night that has 450whp. Nothing really compares to burning through 3 gears, rolling burn offs at 70+ mph, taking it up to 130 to pass some cars. I guess I get involved in a lot of stupid shit on the weekends, but that’s life, life goes on. Well that’s the weekend, so far.

Seats and Engine

Well apparently this week was a busy one for the Silvia. Big breaks installed on the front, and engine dropped in. Lots more to come this week. Last night I went down to Portland and bought 2 Sparco Rev seats with sliders for 500 bucks! Talk about a steal, these seats go for $629 each , and that’s not including sliders. Plus they are red, and match the car.

Silvia Build Up

The s14 Silvia Drift Car build up is going quite nicely. Here are some pictures from a few weeks back. Current progress sense these pictures include; big brake upgrade, lowered, wheels, front body panels on, rear bumper install, and finally engine installed. Items in the next month or so include roll cage, and interior. Then finally body work and paint.

Thanks to everyone who has helped with this project including Mark @ EOPerformance, Ray @ Enjuku Racing, Dave @ JDM Imports, Ryan @ RS Imports, and Jeremy @ Fast1 Motorsports.

Updates

I’ve done a few updates to the Firefox Guide, so if you haven’t checked it out and left a comment please do so. School is keeping me quite busy that directly is hindering my ability to post and work on more sections of the site. And finally…the Silvia is coming along quite nicely. I should have pictures in two weeks or so. Enjoy.

Also…if you don’t check the sidebar links…you might want to there are some good ones.

A Weekend of Driving

Wow this weekend went fast. I don’t want to go to class tomorrow morning. But I think it will be a good week…I had two tests last week so hopefully this week will be test free.

Saturday I went up north to EOPerformance and did a little bit of work on my Silvia (race car). I basically have everything to put it together now…so next couple of weeks it will really take shape. Once I get it together I’ll post picks. Right now it doesn’t look that nice and it would be sad to post them. I also need to shout out to Ray and Ken at Enjuku Racing for all the help on this project. And thanks for the free shirt Ray!

Last night a friend of my sister came over so we hung out and had a nice chat. He’s been gone for that past four years in the Coast Guard is it was nice to talk.

Tonight I went down to Vancouver for a TSDNW meeting. It went really well. There is a car club in Oregon that is starting an Oregon chapter of TSDNW. So now we have two meeting spots on the weekends to kick it…plus another 13 cars for the rally. Hopefully we will have 20 cars. Aka next rally should rock. Hopefully some of the Extreme Evolution guys from Olympia, and DriftFirm guys can come too. It’s a blast if you love to drive.

So ya … fun weekend with lots of freeway miles but totally worth it. Bedtime.

S14 Silvia

New category “S14 Silvia.” This is for everything related to my car, and races. Stay tuned.

For those who haven’t noticed I’ve been doing more work on the site. Certain sections should be finished this weekend.
